Eng. Abdulaziz Mohammed Abdo Yamani

Chairman

Eng. Abdulaziz Yamani is the Chairman of AMIC since 2007. He joined AMIC’s Board of Directors in 2003. Later on, he was appointed deputy chairman and then the chairman. During these years, Eng. Yamani has managed to accelerate the company's growth, and positioned it as Egypt's only Shariah-compliant financial institution.

Eng. Yamani has over 14 years of experience in the investment field. He has a strong track record in many industrial organizations under Dallah Albaraka Group, as he took over responsibilities within the group and occupied several positions in its subsidiaries and affiliates since 1995.

Meanwhile, he has held multiple executive management positions. Recently, he was appointed Deputy Chairman for Business and Development in Dallah AlBaraka Group. From among other positions, Eng Yamani holds the position of CEO of Arab Media Company (AMC) in the field of media production and broadcasting, and he was once awarded the Best Media CEO Prize in the Middle East in 2009. Eng Yamani is also holder of the upcoming positions in the group:

Eng Yamani is also a member of the Management Committee in the Group. From there he moved on to take the full responsibility for the group’s investments in Egypt.

Eng. Yamani’s wide-ranging leadership experience, and numerous board and chairman assignments brings to the Board of Directors extensive expertise in corporate governance, as well as significant operational and strategic expertise, financial management, and strategic development.

Eng. Yamani is a graduate of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, which served an instrumental in executing the corporate most critical and paramount projects and operations of the group during his career.

Ms. Hadeel Saleh Kamel

Vice Chairman

Ms. Hadeel Saleh Kamel was selected for the position of Vice Chairman of AMIC in 2010, she was a member of the AMIC's Board since 2005.
She also occupies other positions which are:

  • Vice Chairman of new Ismailia Co. for development and urban development
  • Board member of Ismailia Misr Poultry.
  • Board member of Dallah investments.

Ms. Kamel has many previous experiences as she was Vice President for Egypt and North Africa in Arab Digital Distribution-ADD, Manager of Development and channels affair of Arab Digital Distribution-ADD.

And she is the Managing Director of Arab Media Distribution-AMD as well.
Ms. Kamel occupies as well the position of Vice President for planning and development of Arab Media Company-AMC, and the Managing Director of Dallah Albaraka Egypt for Investments and Development.

Ms. Hadeel Saleh Kamel has Saudi nationality and she holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration year 2000.

Mr. Khaled Mohammed Ahmed Abu Heif

Managing Director

Mr. Khaled Abou Heif was appointed as the Managing Director of AMIC in 2011. He brings to his role, a wealth of knowledge that he gained from a distinguished career, a mixture of local and international financial institutions. Mr. Abou Heif is at present the Chairman of AT Brokerage (non-executive), Vice Chairman (non-executive) of AT Asset Management and AT Financial Holding and a Board Member in Egyptian Capital Market Association (ECMA) since 2008.

He also played a number of considerable roles in his occupation to various board positions as, Al Yusr for Water Desalination and Purification, Al Rabie Poultry, Arab Egypt for Broiler Chicken, Minapharm Pharmaceutical, Dar Al Fouad Hospital, Minapharm ProBioGen, Arab Company for Medical Appliances (ACMA).

Mr. Abou Heif led a distinguished career as the Managing Director of Commercial International Brokerage Company (CIBC). As a Managing Director of CIBC, Mr. Abou heif led CIBC to rank first among brokerage companies.

Mr. Abou Heif was formerly a board member in C.I. Capital Holding – a member of Commercial International Bank Group - since March 2005 where in a leading manner, he assisted to a great extent in the establishment of the investment banking in the Group.

Formerly, Mr. Abou Heif served as a board member of Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry (M.C.D.R.), a position he held till 2012.

Mr. Abou Heif successfully completed the Corporate Governance program from the Executive Education Program by Wharton University, and holds Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Cairo University in 1990.

Mr. Osama Omar Barayan

Board Member

Mr. Barayan Holds professional experience in external audit, internal audit, compliance, and investments in general, as well as experience in asset allocation strategies and portfolio management. He held several positions and currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer at Dar Saleh Company. In addition, he is currently a Board Member & Audit Committee member at Emaar Economic city and a Board Member & Investment Committee member at Almultqa Alarabi (AMIC), a Board member at Healthcare Alliance, an Audit Committee member at Arbah Capital, and a Board member & Investment Committee at Albuhaira Development & Investment Company–Tunis.

Besides this, on the educational side, Mr. Osama Barayan holds a bachelor's Degree in Accounting from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals and a Master's Degree in Applied Finance from Monash University –Australia. Moreover, Mr. Barayan is a Certified board member by GCC Board Director Institute, and he holds several professional certifications.

Mr. Amr Aly El Garhy

Board Member

Mr. Amr Aly El Garhy was appointed as a board member in AMIC in 2019. 

His appointment to this position was a result of his strong track record and extensive experience in the fields of economics and investment.

Mr. Amr El Garhy is at present the Chairman at Misr Iran Development Bank.

Mr. Amr El Garhy was the Minister of Finance in Egypt from 2016 until 2018, where he led the process of formulating and implementing Egypt’s Economic Reform Program backed by the IMF. 

He also acted as Egypt’s Governor at the Asian International Infrastructure Bank, and as Egypt’s alternate Governor at the IMF, Arab Monetary Fund, and Islamic Development Bank. 

Prior to his position as Minister of Finance, Mr. Amr El Garhy held numerous positions in the largest financial and banking institutions in Egypt throughout his years of extensive experience, such as

  • Managing director at Qalaa Holdings, assuming responsibility of the Group Corporate Finance business as well as supervising the Food and Agriculture platform companies.

  • Vice Chairman and Managing Director at the National Investment Bank in Egypt till 2013, representing the Bank on the boards of several companies such as the Arab Investment Company, Jordanian Egyptian Company for Natural Gas , Abu Qir fertilizers Company, Phosphate Misr Company , Bank of Alexandria and Suez Cement Company, among others.

  • Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ahly Bank (Qatar), taking responsibility for commercial banking and treasury, as well as penetrating several major large scale sectors; petrochemicals, oil and gas, and fertilizers. 

  • Managing Director of Investment Banking EFG Hermes, where he managed and led several successful merger and acquisition deals of large companies and banks. 

  • Managing Director of Investment Flemming CIIC.

  • Executive Director at Commercial International Investment Company (CIIC), where he built and developed the company’s Investment Banking team that was recognized as one of Egypt’s top investment banking teams, as well as contributing to several major investment banking transactions across all types of Investment banking services.

Mr. Amr holds a Bachelor’s degree of Commerce from Cairo University in 1981. 

 

Ms. Neveen El-Tahri

Board member

Joined AMIC’s Board of Directors in 2012 as an Independent Board member. Neveen has 33 years of financial & business experience. CEO of Delta Shield, an organization she founded after the Egyptian 2011 revolution focusing on youth and entrepreneurship.

She is the country representative of Royal Bank of Scotland and sits on their Middle East Advisory Board. Sat on several private & public-sector boards, e.g. Banque Misr, GAFI, Telecom Egypt, Egyptian Railway Projects & Transport Co., Egyptian Stock Exchange, Egypt Information Dissemination Company ”EGID”, Misr Capital Investments and Upper Egypt Leasing Company “UELease”.

She is currently setting on the Board of the Egyptian American Enterprise Fund, the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (ECMS) Mobinil, Cairo Oil & Soap and Regina for Pasta & Food Industries.

Commenced her career in 1980 as corporate banker with Chase Manhattan Bank’s JV. With the revival of the Egyptian Capital Market established Delta EAB Brokerage 1994, ABN AMRO Delta Asset Management 1997, Delta Financial Investments 2007, Nuun Fund Services 2008 and Upper Egypt Leasing 2009, all of which were either fully or partially divested by 2011.

The first woman to sit on the board of the Egyptian Stock Exchange and twice named by the Financial Times as one of the leading businesswomen in the Arab World. Won local awards for her contribution to Egypt’s investment environment and Internationally for her economic empowerment of women. She is also involved with numerous nonprofit & professional associations such as Endeavor Egypt, Cartier Women’s Initiative Award, and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women, MIT Pan Arab competitions, whilst sitting on the boards of both Injaz Egypt, Ahead of the Curve, WPO and CEO.

Graduated from faculty of Economics & Political science, Cairo University and is an alumna of both London Business School and Harvard Business School.

Dr. Khaled Serry Seyam

Independent Board member

Joined AMIC’s Board of Directors in November 2013 as an Independent Board Member. Dr. Seyam has more than 20 years of academic and practical experience in the legal and financial fields, including, Criminal law, International Criminal Law, Commercial Law, Capital Markets, Tax and public Finance, Public Private Partnership, Project Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions.

Dr. Seyam contributed basically in the reform process of the Regulatory Capital Market in Egypt starting 2007 where he served as a Vice Chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) from 2007 till 2009, as a member of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Investment and Free Zones from 2008 till 2013, the Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) from 2009 till 2010, the Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) from 2010 till 2011.

This practical experience is also supplemented by immense academic research. Dr. Seyam contributed to the creation of the French Section of the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, in collaboration with Jean Moulin University, France.

Dr. Seyam is The Founding Director of the Financial Service Institute, which is targeting to become the pioneer Regional Training and Research Center for the Non-Banking Financial Services, where he is currently a Board Member.

Dr. Seyam holds Bachelor of Law from Ain Shams University in 1991 and got his Masters of Law from Ain Shams University in 1993, and got his PhD. from Jean Moulin University, France in 2001.

Eng. Amr Mohammed Aboualam

Board Member

Engineer Amr Aboualam is a Professional Director and serial Entrepreneur. He founded, co-founded, and managed several successful companies in different industries since 1995 after graduating from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University in Egypt.

In 2013, Amr founded LOTUS Management and Consulting to be one of the first Egyptian companies specialized in Real Estate consulting, market studies, Transaction representation, and real estate portfolios / funds creation and management with special focus on commercial, retail, logistics and mixed-use assets. Currently, besides being the Chairman and CEO of LOTUS Management, Amr is Non-Executive Chairman and Board member in several companies and NGOs.

Before LOTUS, Amr joined The Smart Villages Company, SVC, in 2007 as Chief Executive Officer and led it to be the owner and manager of Egypt’s prime CIT Cluster and Financial Business Park, The Smart Village, accommodating tens of thousands of professionals and offering management consulting services locally and regionally.

Prior to SVC, Amr Co-founded Soficom Communications in 1995, one of the first ISPs in the MENA Region, and led it to become one of the largest Internet service providers in Egypt and sold it in 2001. Then he joined the Egyptian Company for Networks who built and operated the first privately owned Public Data Network in Egypt and the Region, EgyNet, as the Director of Strategies and business planning till 2007.

Mr. Sameh Hassan Khalil
